At Maïsha School Complex: Training Children to Fight Digital Illiteracy
As part of our commitment to digital education, we visited the Complexe Scolaire Maisha to observe the progress of the training sessions organized for children. This visit gave us the opportunity to discover a dynamic learning environment where students are developing essential computer and digital skills.
During the visit, Mufuta Kadima Spyridon, one of the program supervisors, emphasized the importance of equal access to education for every child:
"Every child must have an equal opportunity to learn in order to prevent discrimination."
— Mufuta Kadima Spyridon
Through this initiative, children are discovering the basics of computer use while building confidence and independence in the digital world.
Motivated and Enthusiastic Students
The students testimonies clearly show the positive impact of the training on their learning experience and motivation.
"I enjoyed this training because we did a lot of practical work." Another student proudly shared the skills she acquired during the sessions: "I learned about two types of keyboards, how to change the date, how to change icons, and how to move icons."
Mutombo Benjamin Lumpungu also explained what he learned: "I learned how to do multiplication using a computer, the two types of keyboards, and the different types of computer mice." These simple but meaningful testimonies demonstrate how practical learning helps children gain confidence and develop digital skills.
Fighting Digital Illiteracy from the Ground Up
This initiative is part of the broader vision of the "I3" program, which aims to tackle digital illiteracy at its roots. As stated by Eloge Mulumba: "I3 comes to fight digital illiteracy from the root."
In a world where digital skills are becoming increasingly essential, providing children with access to computer education is a major investment in their academic and professional future.
Investing in the Future Generation
Our visit to the Maisha School Complex highlighted the remarkable work being done by trainers and supervisors. Thanks to this initiative, many students now have the opportunity to discover technology, build new skills, and prepare for the realities of the modern world.
Educating children today means building a generation capable of facing tomorrow's digital challenges.
